#Staycation: Day trip to Langley
There are several islands within a short ferry ride from Seattle that make a perfect day trip; Whidbey Island is a favorite of many. We went up in the morning and spent the evening, but taking the ferry out of Mukilteo is a great option if you are just going for the day. Although I like to keep a pretty regimented schedule for Totes and always get him home in the afternoon for his nap, there are exceptions and he sleeps well in his Bob stroller since it reclines back quite a bit. Heading out in the morning and having most of the day to walk around and check out little town was a fun day. Langley is small but makes it count with a lot of variety. A good selection of restaurants and coffee shops are here, along with art galleries, a glass blowing studio, views for days and unique boutiques.
Here were some of our favorite places:
Star Store - a grocery store that also has clothing, gifts and an adorable kids boutique upstairs
Useless Bay Coffee Company - great for breakfast/brunch
Firehouse Glass Gallery - live demonstrations of their glass blowing creations
And if you really want to make it special, consider spending the night and book a room at the Inn at Langley.
